How a Temporary HWID Spoofer Works
A hardware ID (HWID) spoofer changes the unique serial numbers and identifiers tied to your computer’s components. These identifiers can include things like your CPU, motherboard, GPU, and storage drives.
Why use a spoofer?
Troubleshooting hardware-related software issues
Protecting privacy
Bypassing restrictions or bans in certain software or games
How It Works
A spoofer runs during your computer’s boot process — the sequence of steps your system goes through before Windows (or another OS) starts. The process typically works like this:
Power On & Hardware Checks – The system runs initial integrity checks.
CPU Initialization – Your processor starts up and prepares for further instructions.
Chipset Initialization – The motherboard’s chipset is configured.
Board Initialization – Other key hardware components start up.
DXE Stage (Driver Execution Environment) – This is where the spoofer activates. At this early point, it injects changes to your hardware identifiers before the operating system loads.
Running at this stage makes it very difficult for anti-cheat or anti-tamper systems to detect the changes.
Boot Loader – The OS loading process begins.
OS Environment – The operating system starts with the spoofed identifiers already in place.
After-Life Stage – Ensures the spoof remains stable during use.
Temporary vs. Permanent Spoofing
Temporary Spoofer
Changes HWIDs only for the current session.
Reverts to original identifiers after a restart.
No permanent changes to your system.
Useful for users who want flexibility and reversibility.
Can spoof storage drives (important for games like Fortnite tournaments or Valorant) even if you don’t have certain hardware controllers like the MAP1202.
Permanent Spoofer
Patches directly into the BIOS/UEFI firmware.
Changes persist through restarts, updates, and even with Secure Boot enabled.
Anti-cheat systems cannot detect the original IDs because they’re fully replaced.
Best for those who want a one-time, lasting solution.
